Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio, where his father taught music for more than 27 years. Ryan began playing his first instrument in elementary school before slowly mastering multiple others. During his time at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, Ryan performed in the school’s symphony orchestra and served as conductor of the New Horizons Orchestra. He continues to perform today at Purdue Fort Wayne Community Orchestra, the Northrop High School Orchestra, and the Jefferson Middle School Orchestra. Ryan has a passion for transforming complete novices into lifelong musicians. He believes instructors can teach anyone anything through music, with music being the vessel that helps people become the best version of themselves. His favorite artists include composers like Anton Bruckner and Serge Koussevitzky as well as contemporary artist The Weekend and blues harmonica player Paul Butterfield. Ryan and his wife Claudia share their home with two cats, Jeff and Lucy.
