Payton Kempton

Payton Kempton

Payton Kempton grew up in Fort Wayne in a home bursting with music. Her brother, father, and grandfather all played the trumpet. Payton took a slightly different path, learning to play the cello and bassoon. She says music has helped her overcome some of life’s biggest difficulties and helped her develop into a more complete person, acting as a form of therapy for her. She believes music has the power to transform the lives of others as well, which is why she chose to become a teacher. Payton regularly performs with the PFW wind ensemble, choir, and orchestra as she pursues her degree in education. Outside of work, Payton loves to meditate, listen to the Deftones, and spend time with her two adorable boy cats, Zero and Ziggy.
