Joshua Adler
There’s hardly a moment when Joshua Adler isn’t surrounded by music. He’s been teaching private lessons for three years now, offering instruction out of his home and his dorm room at Manchester University. When Joshua goes home for family gatherings, his dad’s side of the family pull out their favorite brass instruments for a family jam session. Joshua regularly performs with nearly every instrumental ensemble Manchester has to offer, participating in master classes and taking part in music festivals.
Joshua loves how music holds the power to bring communities together and allows him the ability to find common ground with strangers. But for Joshua, music’s ability to bridge divides is much more than just a platitude. So, in addition to music performance, he’s also studying peace studies and philosophy. As president of the campus Kenapocomoco Peace Coalition and board member of Education for Conflict Resolution, Joshua strives daily to find the intersection of music, philosophy, and peace.
