Christian Urizar
Christian Urizar is an undergraduate student at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW), currently double-majoring in Music Performance with an emphasis in piano and Music Technology. Originally from Rhode Island and raised in Guatemala City, Christian’s musical journey began early with classical piano studies at the National Music Conservatory of Guatemala.
In addition to his classical training, Christian has a strong background in popular music. He recently participated in a music festival in Acqui Terme, Italy, where he performed as a piano soloist, interacted with fellow musicians from around the world, and took part in master classes with distinguished artists. As a pianist in the PFW Wind Ensemble, he has had the opportunity to tour cities in France, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States. His performances have earned him solo awards in the Hoosier Auditions and recognition in Concerto competitions.
Outside of his academic and performance pursuits, Christian is passionate about music production, composition, and sound engineering. In his free time, he enjoys producing music, composing new pieces, experimenting with sound design, playing video-games and fixing cars.
