Micah Roddy

Micah Roddy

Growing up with shoddy TV reception, Micah Roddy’s favorite form of entertainment came from his extended family gatherings, when his mother’s side of the family would break out their guitars and sing the best of 50s rockabilly, The Beatles, hymns, country tunes, and more. Having caught the music bug, Micah spent his high school years performing any chance he got, whether that be with the marching band, jazz band, concert band or show choir band. Now Micah is the one creating these same opportunities for students. He’s taught music with Fort Wayne Community Schools for more than 16 years, most recently at Blackhawk Middle School, where he has the privilege of teaching his son in band class. Micah says music is good for brain, body, and soul, with a serendipitous lyric often functioning as his therapist. Micah loves anything to do with comedy, citing comic Conan O’Brien as one of his personal heroes. However, he ranks Conan slightly below his wife, who Micah says makes can make him smile every single day.
