READI 2.0 Grant Awarded

Pearl Arts is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $4 million grant through the READI 2.0 Arts & Culture Initiative, a transformational investment that will help expand access to creative education, workforce development, and artistic opportunities throughout Northeast Indiana.

This historic funding will support the continued growth of the Pearl Arts Creative Talent Academy Program, a comprehensive initiative designed to prepare youth and adults for success in the creative economy through hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experiences. In partnership with the Innovation Institute and the historic downtown theatre, Pearl Arts will create new pathways for students, aspiring artists, and creative professionals to develop the skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving arts and entertainment industries.

The grant will help fund two major capital improvement projects that will significantly enhance Pearl Arts’ ability to serve the region. The first project will focus on the renovation and expansion of the historic downtown theatre, transforming it into a fully equipped training venue for stage production, music technology, live event operations, and other technical arts disciplines. This upgraded space will provide students with the opportunity to learn in a professional environment while gaining practical experience in the behind-the-scenes careers that bring performances to life.

The second project will expand and modernize Pearl Arts’ current training facilities by adding additional classrooms, rehearsal spaces, instructional labs, and a dedicated recording studio. These improvements will create a more dynamic learning environment where students of all ages can explore music, technology, performance, and creative entrepreneurship. The expanded facilities will allow Pearl Arts to increase programming, welcome more students, and provide new opportunities for collaboration among artists, educators, and community partners.

This investment represents a significant step forward in Pearl Arts’ mission to strengthen the creative ecosystem of Northeast Indiana. By combining arts education with workforce development, Pearl Arts is helping cultivate the next generation of musicians, performers, technicians, and creative leaders while providing adults with opportunities to continue learning and building new skills.
