Pearl Arts Shines at FAME
Twenty students from the Pearl Arts homeschool band and orchestra programs took to the stage at the annual FAME (Foundation for Arts and Music in Fort Wayne) Festival held at the Grand Wayne Center on Sunday, March 15. For the 40th year, Fort Wayne hosted the FAME festival to celebrate the talents of several students through music, dance, and theatre performances along with visual arts displays.
The band, under the direction of Jesse Evans, played “Hexagony”, a piece for band that utilizes just 6 notes in keeping with the South Asian theme of the festival. Following the band performance, the Strings of Pearl Beginning Strings class played a few numbers under the baton of Emily Mondok, delighting the audience with Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Both band and orchestra programs collaborated to learn the high-energy piece “Sword Dance,” which closed their program.
We are so proud of our students who represented Pearl Arts in our community!
