Pearl Summertime Strings is a fun, low-pressure summer string ensemble for grades 3–12 (beginning–intermediate) that keeps students playing, learning, and connected while school is out. It’s a great fit for students who want to stay sharp over the summer, students who miss orchestra, or anyone who’s always wanted to play in a group and make new friends through music.
This ensemble meets weekly to rehearse string orchestra repertoire while reinforcing core skills like sight-reading, key signatures, and common orchestra terminology, plus practical practice techniques students can take back into their individual playing. Music will be provided by the instructor.
Prerequisite / level: Violin, viola, cello, and bass students should be comfortable playing in first position and have basic note-reading skills. Skill level is beginning to intermediate.
Schedule: Wednesdays 10:00–11:00 AM, running 8 weeks from June 3 through July 29, 2026 (no class June 24). The final week includes an open rehearsal where family and friends can sit in and watch class.
What to bring: A properly fitted instrument and bow in good condition (music provided).
