Jeff Amstutz

Jeff Amstutz is a state-certified instrumental music teacher and program director at Lakeside Middle School with three decades of experience teaching private trumpet and brass lessons. He grew up surrounded by music and music teaching. His mother was an accomplished voice and piano teacher, who held lessons at their home since before Jeff was born. He graduated with a degree in music education from Taylor University, where he was named a top three trumpet player to graduate from the school.

Jeff believes that not only does playing music make you smarter, but it also makes you feel better! He’s a founding member of Northeast Indiana’s premier jazz ensemble, the New Millenium Jazz Orchestra. He also has a history of performing with many local music groups including Summit Brass Quartet, the Fort Wayne Civic Theater Orchestra, and Clubber Lang. As a private lesson instructor, his students consistently receive ISSMA accolades and selections to all state jazz and concert bands.
