Laura Mergy
Laura Mergy’s parents might not have been musical, but they saw the value in keeping Laura and her siblings immersed in music education all through high school. Laura found herself falling in love with the design and intricacies of music – how the notes can be both mathematically explainable and inexplicably powerful. In 2018, she began attending the American Suzuki Institute in Stevens Point, Wisconsin for violin and viola teacher training. Laura also attended Purdue Fort Wayne, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music technology. While there, she had the joy of participating in the Chancellor’s String Quartet as well as in various student recitals and recording projects.
Laura has an eclectic taste in music genres, enjoying the orchestral work of Howard Shore and modern pop rock icons like Benson Boone. Outside of her musical pursuits, Laura loves to read, garden, hike, square dance, and play board games.
