John Miley
John Miley spent his college years working creatively with friends and fellow musicians, recording, mixing, and producing the original music they wrote. The field of music technology is a crucial part of bringing more music to more listeners’ ears, and John has found it incredibly rewarding. That’s not to say he isn’t also entranced by performing as well. John began playing the trumpet more than a dozen years ago, which gave him the confidence he needed to expand his repertoire to include even more brass instruments. John’s Mom grew up a band kid, and his dad played bass in an alt rock cover band. By combining these two influences, John was able to develope a unique perspective as an instructor. He loves tackling difficult music, because when it all finally clicks, it’s like he’s speaking in a language that few can speak, but anyone can understand. Some of his favorite musicians include composers Ludwig Göransson, Remi Wolf, and Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. Lately, John’s been experimenting with visual mediums, not just audio, as he takes up freelance videography.
