Instructor Spotlight: Josiah Massengale

Josiah Massengale comes from a family of twelve, a family where almost everyone, including his parents, discovered a deep love for music. Music offered Josiah the crucial outlet he needed to develop as an individual, which is why, now, as an instructor, Josiah hopes to provide each of his students their own outlet to learn about themselves. Even so, it took Josiah some time to solidify what he planned to do with his life, switching his major several times in college, before deciding on a double major in Trombone Performance and Music Technology. He regularly plays trombone with the Old Crown Brass Band in Fort Wayne. Despite his love for the brass family of instruments, Josiah’s taste for music falls squarely into alternative and progressive rock, with a few favorites including Muse, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, and The Strokes. When Josiah is not playing one of his many horns, he can be found in the fall rooting for the Seahawks and Colts!
